Use Our Podcasts to Get Your Message Out
Doctor Who and science fiction in general casts a wide net in its followers. While our podcasts reaches everyone from 8 to 80, a majority of them reach those of the age of 21 to 44. Half of them are single with a disposable income.
Listeners range from ‘hardcore’ fans, to casual fans as well as people who have just obtained an interest in the genre. Most of them will consume other related media and collect associated memorabilia.
Sandy Aftermath Day 338: It's been "a year from hell" recovering and restoring from the mass devastation which Superstorm Sandy caused. There's still a great deal more to do, though it's getting closer to where a sense of "normality" will prevail while ongoing recovery work continues. This means our shows will be resuming shortly including Doctor Who: Podshock and perhaps a new one or two as well.
Recently over the last month, I have written about smartphone app, Mobli. Last week, I had the honor of being featured among others on the popular people section of the app and website. I posted about it and the new features that had been added with the latest update to the iOS version of the app. In that posting, I mentioned I was among others featured including Lukas Haas and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Stay on top of your favourite podcast, plus get bonus exclusives with the new DW Podshock Companion App for the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad. It is an inexpensive way to help support the podcast while keeping up with news, podcast episodes, the Twitter feed, and exclusive content available through the app.
It is a universal app, so it runs in native resolution on both the Apple iPhone/iPod touch as well as the iPad. When you launch it, you will see a splash screen featuring the familiar faces of the podcast hosts. From there you can explore news stories, podcast episodes, the latest on the Twitter feed, and exclusives for the app (these are different than DWP Extra Edition episodes).

Robin Dal Pozzo McVay Chosen to Receive a Free Signed Book, The Mythological Dimensions of Doctor Who
We are happy to announced that Robin Dal Pozzo McVay is the second of two randomly chosen Podshock Supporting Subscribers to receive a free autographed copy of the new book,The Mythological Dimensions of Doctor Who.
As previously stated (see: The Mythological Dimensions of Doctor Who Book Give Away for Podshock Supporting Subscribers), we have two copies of this new book that studies the mythological influences on the long running science fiction series, Doctor Who which were autographed by contributing writers and editors, Anthony S Burdge, Jessica Burke, Kristine Larsen, and Melody Green at the book launch event in NYC at Fiddlesticks in May.
Last month we stated we would give a brand new unopened copy of Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead in HD on Blu-ray to randomly selected Podshock Supporting Subscriber (Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead Blu-Ray Going to a Podshock Supporting Subscriber). We promised we would announce the winner at our seasonal meet up on Second Life on the 20th of February (Pre-Gallifrey 21 Meet Up on Second Life). We did. The subscriber we randomly selected was Ken Okel. (Ken was not present at the meet up, but we stated that you need not be present for it).
After contacting Ken, we learned that he had just bought a copy of Planet of the Dead on BD, and offered us to give the disc to another subscriber that may need it. Fortunately, we had selected a runner up just in case something like this occurred. That person is Helen Lesser!
